By: Hunter Ferguson

Norman North athlete Audrey Bertman spoke to VYPE in a recent interview.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My personal goal for the year is to enjoy my last year of basketball and to be a leader for the underclassmen

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite athletic memory is when we made it to state last year.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
The teammate that has left the biggest impact on me is our senior from last year Audrey Tucker. She continued to work hard no matter the outcome and was always a positive role model for the people around her.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part of being on the team was building relationships with my teammates where eventually we become a small family.

VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
I participate in multiple community service projects. My favorite is the Assistance League of Norman because of the impact they make on younger students in our community.

VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?
I belong to many clubs at school. I am involved in National Honors Society, SPUD (Student Performing Unselfish Deeds), Project Linus, Rotary, and many others. I am involved in these organizations because I want to be able to give back to the community.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Basketball has taught me to never give up when things get hard. No matter the challenge you can get through it.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
The best advice I was given is from Coach Beal he said “Don’t let anyone turn your key”.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
My mom. The drive that she has everyday inspires me to go out of my way to be the best I can be for the people around me no matter the circumstances.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.
I would like to thank my family and friends for all of the support I have gotten throughout my athletic career.
