Norman North’s Nash Henry – Football Spotlight – Presented by Cindy Nashert State Farm Insurance

Norman North quarterback Nash Henry is settling into a leadership role that fits him as naturally as the Timberwolves green and white. A rising junior on the varsity football team, Henry has already become one of the steady voices in the locker room and huddle, blending competitiveness with a calm, team‑first approach that his coaches and teammates rely on.

For Henry, the foundation of Norman North football starts with the bond inside the program. “I love how close we are. Everybody wants to compete, but we’re all pulling for each other too. We have a bunch of guys who work hard every day, and it makes coming to practice fun. It really feels like a family.” That family feel carries into every workout and practice, and it is a big part of why he enjoys showing up and pushing the group to improve.

Henry’s parents are at the core of his personal motivation, shaping how he carries himself on and off the field. “My parents inspire me the most. They’ve always believed in me, pushed me to be my best, and supported me in everything I do. They remind me that hard work, being humble, and treating people the right way matter more than anything else.” That message lines up with the way he approaches his position and his teammates, emphasizing character and effort alongside performance.

As the Timberwolves’ quarterback, Henry embraces the responsibility that comes with the job. “I play quarterback. I love being able to lead the team and compete every Friday night. It’s a position where you have to earn everyone’s trust, make quick decisions, and help put your teammates in the best position to succeed.” Summer workouts have only reinforced his confidence in the group around him. “Summer workouts have been great. Everybody’s been putting in the work, and I think we’re getting better every day. During spring ball, I learned how much potential we have. We’ve got a lot of guys who are hungry to improve, and I’m excited to see what we can do this season.”

Football is Henry’s primary focus, and he spends most of his time outside of class trying to sharpen his game. “Football is my main focus. Most of my time outside of school is spent training, lifting, throwing, and doing everything I can to get better as a quarterback.” He studies the example set by older teammates as well. “I’ve had a lot of teammates who have made an impact on me, but the ones who stand out are the guys who always gave everything they had, no matter the situation. Seeing older players lead by example and never quit showed me what being a good teammate really looks like.”

That perspective carries into how he prepares for Friday nights. “I learned that the little things matter. Whether it’s film study, taking care of your body, or staying locked in at practice, those small habits add up and make a big difference on Friday nights.” Henry points to his poise and decision‑making as strengths, but he is far from satisfied. “I think one of my biggest strengths is making quick decisions and staying calm under pressure. I’m always working to become more accurate, improve my footwork, and be an even better leader for my teammates.”

Heading into his junior year, Henry’s goals are clear and ambitious. “After high school, my goal is to play college football and compete at the highest level I can while earning a college degree.”
