Norman North’s Camden Pratcher Athlete Spotlight Presented by Genesis of Norman

By Jayden Oyler
Camden Pratcher, a senior at Norman North High School, is a student-athlete who has left his mark in both football and track.

“I’m most proud of winning state twice last year in track,” Pratcher said when asked about an achievement he is most proud of.

Participating in track and football has equipped Pratcher with essential life skills. “It taught me discipline and how to be coachable and how to work together as a team,” Pratcher said. These skills transcend the realm of sports, laying the foundation for personal and professional growth. In his academic journey, Pratcher shares a special connection with his junior-year English teacher, Ms. Howell. Their daily conversations and her unwavering support have played a pivotal role in his education. Pratcher highlighted, “We always had great conversations every day, and she helped me anytime I needed it.”

Pratcher draws inspiration from professional athletes who set examples of professionalism and excellence in their respective sports. Their commitment and work ethic serve as a source of motivation.

Among the many teammates he’s had, one person who left a lasting impact on Pratcher is Chapman Mckown. Chapman’s influence has been transformative, teaching Pratcher to find positivity in every situation and to stay grounded in his faith.

One of the most cherished aspects of being a student-athlete is the opportunity to represent his school. Pratcher relishes the chance to bring attention to Norman North High School and put it on the map alongside his teammates.

Pratcher’s journey has been guided by invaluable advice: “Trust in God and never be satisfied.” Beyond his athletic pursuits, Pratcher is involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), demonstrating his commitment to both his faith and the community.

As he reflects on his high school journey, Pratcher extends his gratitude to those who have supported him along the way. “I’d like to thank God most of all and a big thanks to my family, friends, and coaches,” he said. These individuals, and the support they have given, have played an instrumental role in his achievements.
