VYPE: How long have you competed in track and what events do you compete in?
Deisering: I’ve been in track for going on seven years now and I’m currently only doing pole vault.
VYPE: Do you play any other sports?
Deisering: I do not play any other sports
VYPE: What do you enjoy most about being a student-athlete at Norman North?
Deisering: I think the thing I enjoy most about being a student-athlete at NNHS is the community of student-athletes.
VYPE: Tell me about your teammates. What do you enjoy about them?
Deisering: As a pole vaulter at NNHS I mostly interact with the other vaulters but out of our group I think Triston’s got some crazy speed Maddox keeps us laughing all the time and out of our goofy group I’d say Seth is the most serious
VYPE: What made you want to join track and try pole vaulting?
Deisering: I joined track in middle school because my brother did it and I keep competing because the thrill of beating my own person best is an amazing feeling.
VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate?
Deisering: After I graduate, I’m going to SNU to pole vault in college and get my degree in business.
VYPE: Who has been a big influence in your life?
Deisering: I think all of my siblings have been huge influences in my life all in their own ways
VYPE: Do you have any superstitions or routines before a meet?
Deisering: I used to be a superstitious pole vaulter, but I’ve tried to get rid of them to be more versatile athlete.
VYPE: Where is your favorite place to compete?
Deisering: My favorite place to compete is definitely a hard one but I’d say right now it’s Putnam City West because I’ve set a new personal best there two years in a row.
